Olympia is a highly trained, Makeup Artist based in the heart of the DMV. Her love and passion for the beauty industry has been passed down in her family from generation to generation. Her late grandmother, Pattie Smith Mariano, was the owner an operator of a successful hair salon in North Carolina, where she also manufactured and distributed her own products which embedded entrepreneurship into Olympia at an early age.  As Olympia transitioned to Richmond, Virginia, she started her freelance business growing clientele and founding the company, Olympia’s Canvas, in 2018.

While attending Virginia Union University, Olympia studied Biology while simultaneously freelancing at her university and in the surrounding community. At 19, she went on to work for the prestigious, coveted makeup artistry brand, MAC Cosmetics. Olympia spent over 4-years refining her skills and broadening her makeup experiences through the make up brand. She completed a rigorous, comprehensive certification, makeup-artistry training program, the 'Mothers of Makeup' class by Danessa Myrick, and continues to acquire education on current makeup trends, techniques, and latest product knowledge.

Olympia describes makeup artistry as "painting on living canvas". She explains, "Every canvas (face of a client/model) is different. Whether that be in shape, color, texture, etc. each canvas has a story." She specially preps and paints to create a customized and flawless application. In makeup artistry, no canvas is exactly like another. No face is exactly like another.
